5 things I hate I have tasted in the US

Okay, I admit it – I like making lists, so this will probably not be the last one. I have tasted these 5 things for the first time, and I now hate that I have tasted them… ‘cause they are delicious!
1)      Corn dog
I tasted this odd invention in San Francisco for the first time. I haven’t had it since, but I know I probably will.
2)      Chili fries
I tried chili fries with onion and cheese today – yummy!
3)      Fatburger
Fatburger is a burger place (funnily enough) in Redondo Beach. They make the most juicy burgers ever.
4)      Hersheys
Hersheys chocolate is addicting!
5)      Peanut butter and jelly sandwich
What a match! And what an amount of fat! But it has a lot of protein?
Here are some mixed pictures from earlier in my stay and some recent ones:

Hollywood, Griffiths Observatory, Skydiving, Halloween, meeting Roshon Fegan and Indian food... I love life!

  1. Hey Nadja! I am a norwegian girl who is considering going to LA with EF and I have some questions for you. Were you good in english before you went to LA? Was it easy to meet new friends? is it many people from scandinavia on the LA EF school? I am a bit tired of school and want to do something different. I am very motivated to learn english and just experience a new culture, and LA seems like a cool place. Looks like you are having a great time and visiting a lot of cool places. How is the classes? do you mostly work alone or in groups? now, after some months in LA, do you feel that you manage the language better? I have read on the homepage and got some e-mails form EF, but I hope you have time to answer my questions because then I get a more accurate picture on how it really is to study with EF in LA.
I think I am going and I look forward to it, a lot!! :)

Thank you and have a nice day! :)

  3. Hey Emilie. I was pretty good before i went to LA - but I think that you can always get better. And then I just wanted to travel and, as you, needed something different. Studying with people from all over the world makes it very easy to make friends - almost everyone is very open-minded, which makes the environment kinda speciel. Yeah EF LA has a lot of scandinavians actually, but also a lot of french and japanese people for example. It sounds like EF LA is just the place for you - i had the same motivation before i left, and i absolutely love it here. And you dont just experience the american culture, you experience cultures from all over the world. The classes are good too; we aren't that many people in the classes and the teachers so far have been good. We mostly work in groups, but also do some individual assignments. Im definitely more secure talking English and my vocabulary has expanded - it takes longer for me to improve, because i started as advanced, but im definitely still improving. Yeah, it was a really good idea asking a student as well, and I hope you can use my answers :) My advice is to go more 3 months as a MINIMUM. 6 or 9 months are ideal. I know it is expensive but it is definitely worth it.

  5. That's it, what I wanted to know as well, but Emilie was the first one with these questions :D BTW I have an another one, more delicate, could say sincerely ;) How much do You have to spend every week to play just like that? :) Your adventure seems to be very interesting, practically fascinating (it could be, in my opinion, the trip of my life too, cause I have always been dreamed about visiting this beautiful city and state). I would like to know something more about the costs of amusement, in general of stay there. ;)

  6. It is very different how much i spend every week - actually i have no idea. It depends a lot on where you come from. I come from Denmark which generally is an expensive country, so food, clothes etc. is cheaper here. If you wanna go to the grammy concert, go skydiving and take a road trip, of course it will be expensive - so it also depends on how much you want to do. Amusement parks are expensive though, both Disneyland and Six Flags. PLUS it depends on whether you stay in a hostfamily or in the residence - the host family is definitely the cheapes choice.
